Title: Analytic aspects of graph polynomials
Keynote Speaker: Wang Yi
Abstract: We discuss certain analytic properties of graph polynomials, with emphasis on the unimodality, log-concavity and real-rootedness.
Speaker Introduction: Wang Yi, born in Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province, professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Mathematical Sciences, Dalian University of Technology. In 1979, he was admitted into the Department of Applied Mathematics of Dalian University of Technology, and received his Doctor of Science under the supervision of Mr. Xu Lizhi. He mainly studies combinatorial mathematics, and shows great interests in combinatorial extreme value theory, graph theory, and combinatorial number theory of combinatorial enumeration and partially ordered set. He has achieved significant accomplishments in combinatorial inequality, whose numerous research findings have been cited in many foreign monographs in the form of theorems. He has presided over several national, ministerial and provincial fund projects. He is currently a doctor station director in the first-level discipline of mathematics at Dalian University of Technology, a standing committee member of the Combinatorial Mathematics and Graph Theory Professional Committee of Chinese Mathematical Society, a standing director of the Graph Theory and Combinatorics Branch of Operations Research Society of China, a standing committee member and deputy director of the Graph Theory and Combinatorics and Applications Professional Committee of China Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, and an editor of the English version of Acta Mathematicae Applicatae Sinica - journal of Chinese Mathematical Society.
