Title: China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling: Evaluation Criteria and Precautions

Abstract:
This lecture mainly reviews the origin and development of the China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling, introduces its evaluation criteria, analyzes some typical problems and precautions in the Contest, and illustrates the innovative thinking in the modeling process with two simple examples.
Introduction to the Speaker:
Xie Jinxing, professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences of Tsinghua University, concurrently serves as the Vice Chairman of the China Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, and Secretary General of the Organizing Committee of China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling. He mainly studies mathematical modeling, operations research and management science.
