Abstract:

In this note, the known deterministic linear-quadratic Stackelberg game is revisited, whose open-loop solution actually possesses the nature of time inconsistency. To handle the time inconsistency, a time-consistent open-loop solution is introduced for the deterministic linear-quadratic Stackelberg game. On the existence and uniqueness of such a kind of solution, necessary and sufficient conditions are obtained, which are characterized via several Riccati-like equations.

Introduction to the Lecturer:

Ni Yuanhua, associate professor and doctoral supervisor at the College of Artificial Intelligence, Nankai University, received doctoral degree from the Institute of Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2010 and has been engaged in the research on modeling optimization and control of complex systems, optimization and control of stochastic systems, distributed optimization and control, etc. He is now leading a General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and was granted the 22^ndGuan Zhao-Zhi Award (2016). He has rich theoretical research results and has more than 20 SCI articles published. His main results are published in the form of long articles inIEEE Transactions on Automatic Control,Automatica,SIAM Journal on Control and OptimizationandIEEE Transactions on Cybernetics. Ni Yuanhua is a member of the editorial board for the journalsSystem & Control LetterandSystems Science and Mathematics, a member of the Stochastic Systems Control Group, Technical Committee on Control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation, and also a member of the Intelligent Space Systems Committee, Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence.
